Cette cornemuse spécifiquement bretonne est l’autre marque de fabrique de l’atelier Tudual This specifically Breton instrument, like the bombarde, is another of the hallmarks of the Hervieux/Botuha workshop. This is the « little songbird » of the traditional breton pipe duo (couple). It maintains the rhythm, dictates the dancers steps and sends them into a veritable transe ! This instrument has therefore not only to be powerful, but also stable and balanced ; it should have a rich sound and bright drones wit all-envelopping harmonics. This is exactly what the binioù of Hervieux and Botuha have come to stand for. Velvet to the ear as well as to the eye !
The ergonmics and the aesthetics of these instruments are indubitably united with the craftsmanship of the leather work achieved and this, after much research. Research has enabled the exact reproduction today of the bags of the old instruments. The craft has made possible the most moderrn of tailor-made bags which meet the needs of a wide range of client’s specifications. The bags are cut- out, and tied-in entirely in the workshop.
This same effort in the field of research and innovation and « made-to-measure » models has also been applied to the turning of mouthpieces, drones and chanters .The binuoù crafted by Hervieux and Botuha display the finest of detail and finishing including extremely complex inlays using pewter….all carried out in the one workshop. The different pitches and keys satisfy the needs not only of those who wish to maintain contact with the true tradition, but also offer a breath of modernity according to the desires and morphology of the client.

Servicing
Repairs
Thanks to our complete range of machines (metal lathes, milling machines…) we can carry out all your binioù repairs, without exception, in our workshop which is situated in the south of Brittany between Rennes Nantes and Vannes . (Subject to estimate).
Waiting Times
At the present times all our instruments are subject to delays of between 6 and 24 months subject to the complexity of the instrument ordered.. Please note : delays can increase according to the time of year.
Dispatching
All instruments are reeded prior to leavingthe workshop. Goods are dispatched on receipt of full settlement of bill. We use the Colissimo system or simple packages.
Payment
A deposit of 30 % is required on placement of the order. All orders must be paid 100 % before being dispatched. Cheques, direct bank transfers and credit cards accepted.
